There are various things, which are needed in special situations, but you don't know that they are directly in our environment present:
- Wood for the building of shelves (or sth. else)
- a saw, sewing machine, drill press
- videos, a car
- computers with the possibility of printing
That can also be skills, talents or special knowledge:
- assistance during the tax declaration, sitting the babies
- removals, languages, carpenter knowledge
- homework. bicycle repairs...,
- time
We often don't know about the fact that lots of ressources exist in our environment, so that we pay for it. We cannot do things because we don't know how to - although there are people, who would be pleased if they could help us, e.g. unemployed, who look for new operating fields.
Founding/Building up „use communities“
A „use community“ is a network of persons, who use something together, give things to each other for free or share it. That can be the inhabitants of a house but also a network of friends. An important base is confidence. The „use community“ is the network of people where you can ask for help.
Using a printed directory which can be edited by everyone involved & the platform in the internet in a „use community“ resources, knowledge, skills, things & infrastructure are
- written down so that everyone involved can see what is offered.
- shared by all.
- requested in a (monthly) meeting if someone needs help
„Use communities“ can be used in different ways, e.g. for building up education networks.
